About
Hi! I'm LiquidSevens, and this is Aquaria, a subsite of OUTER HEAVEN. On this site you'll find all sorts of information about video game history. Developer interviews, behind-the-scenes photos, and all sorts of translated documents. And a healthy amount of original articles about video game history written by myself. Many of my sources are out-of-print magazines, dead websites, and obscure DVDs. Most of them were already translated to English when I found them, but some were also translated by me.
About Translations
I natively speak English and Spanish. In regards to any translations that are credited to myself, if they're Spanish-to-English translations, I've done them manually with my own knowledge of the languages.
In regards to the Japanese language, I can't read, speak, or write it. Certainly, I know more about the language than the average person, but that merely amounts to knowing a few kanji, spoken words, and the phonetic kana. I'm essentially illiterate in the language. So yes, I rely on machine translations (MTL) for all of my Japanese-to-English translations unless otherwise noted. But I don't just copy-and-paste into Google Translate and call it a day. I have a very detailed and careful method with several steps. It's a lot of effort to ensure the whole process goes as smoothly as possible, because there are so many points of failure when it comes to machine translating anything... Please read my Notes on Machine Translation to learn how I do this.
If a translation originates from elsewhere, I will always credit the translator and note the original website it was posted on.
"Aquaria"...?
Yeah, I was listening to Diane Arkenstone's 2001 album, Aquaria: A Liquid Blue Trancescape, when I made this site.
