Schneider (1987)

Schneider was one of Outer Heaven's architects, and the leader of the Outer Heaven Resistance. Schneider was Snake's first contact in Outer Heaven, and assisted him during most of the Outer Heaven Uprising. However, upon discovering that Big Boss was Outer Heaven's leader, he was quickly assassinated.

As one of Outer Heaven's designers, Schneider knew the location of various hidden passages and the mechanisms of other quirks. As a resistance member, Schneider was seen as a good leader with keen insight.

History

Before becoming involved with Outer Heaven, Schneider was once an architectural engineer. At some point, he was kidnapped by Outer Heaven, and forced to become part of the fortress's design staff.

Schneider had a family: a wife and some children; however, they were murdered by Outer Heaven after some time. This caused him to join the Outer Heaven Resistance, which he would eventually come to lead.

When Solid Snake arrived at Outer Heaven, Big Boss told him to contact the Resistance. After a while, Schneider himself contacted Snake via radio (frequency 120.79), offering to guide the FOXHOUND operative through the fortress.

Early on during Snake's mission, Big Boss would frequently tell Snake to call Schneider, claiming that the resistance leader knew the locations of hidden key items.

When Snake learned that Gray Fox was being held in a hidden prison cell, he called Schneider for assistance, but the resistance leader didn't know anything about the cell. After leaving Fox's cell, Snake called Schneider again, asking for help locating an enemy uniform. Schneider told him the location, and requested that the operative call him on frequency 120.26 from then on.

Once Snake was about to infiltrate Outer Heaven Building 3, Schneider discovered that Outer Heaven's leader was none other than Big Boss. Alarmed, Schneider called Snake to inform him, but was assassinated mid-call.
