History
Solid Snake began his tenure at the black ops unit FOXHOUND sometime in the late 20th century. At this time, he had not yet participated in any field missions.
A short while later, in the year 19XX, rumors of Outer Heaven constructing an ultimate weapon reached the Western Bloc. In response to this disconcerting news, FOXHOUND was assigned to infiltrate the fortress nation and verify the existence of the weapon. The mission was headed by one of FOXHOUND's most decorated operatives: Gray Fox. Fox was able to send limited intel back to FOXHOUND before being captured.
In this dire situation, the rookie Solid Snake was assigned an emergency mission, Operation: Intrude N313 - rescue Gray Fox, continue searching for evidence of the ultimate weapon, and then destroy it. Armed with nothing but a radio, Snake began his mission by infiltrating Outer Heaven via waterway. Once Snake exited the water, Big Boss called him to remind him of the mission details one last time. At this point, Snake began his exploration of the fortress nation
